HYBILAT^® – Safety and environmental protection

Hybilat^® is a safe and environmentally friendly oil and chemical binding agent that combines superior product properties with high safety standards that is DEKRA certified.

If contamination or accidents occur involving petroleum, petroleum products and chemicals, the use of tested binders is a safe and reliable way for damage control. The protection of people and the environment is the key point; therefore the requirements for binders are very high and established by experts from Environment Agencies and the industry at large.

Raw material and properties

Hybilat^® is made of natural granulate expanded silicate, is chemically neutral and has a pore volume of 80%. This results in an optimum bulk density (about% 260 - 320 g / l), a high absorption capacity and a high retention capacity for virtually all liquids. Hybilat^® is chemically inert and nontoxic, has high stability and is even when oil-saturated non - slip.

Application

Hybilat^® is spread in a layer thickness of about 3 mm and swept up after sufficient absorption time. Before use, the compatibility of the binder with the absorbed liquid needs to be tested. The disposal of the polluted mixture should be in accordance with applicable regulations. Oil-contaminated soils are to be softened with solvents and then sprinkled with Hybilat^®. Without absorbed liquid, Hybilat ® is non-flammable.

According to the requirements of Leaflet No. 27 LTwS Hybilat ® corresponds to the oil binder Type III R, announced by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Conservation. The Hygiene Institute of the Ruhrgebiet, Gelsenkirchen, has issued a work labor hygienic declaration free of problems for its use. Hybilat-A^® was awarded the DEKRA test certificate.

  (e.g. sodium hydroxide (33%), Triethamolamin, chlorine bleach (10%))
• Flammable, combustible liquids
  (e.g. heptane, THF, toluene, ethanol (96%))
• Non-water soluble organic liquids
  (e.g. palm oil, biodiesel, ethyl acetate)
• Water-miscible organic liquids
  (e.g. Pantanol, DMSO, triethanolamine)
• Oxidative substances
  (Including hydrogen peroxide (30%), conc. Perchloric acid, chlorine bleach (10%))
• Aqueous polar liquids
  (e.g ethylene glycol, magnesium chloride (33%), Mehylcellulose (0.5%))

Universal binder Type III R for many liquids

Hybilat-N^® is the universally used binder for the absorption of liquids such as oils, water, drilling emulsions, paints, acids, etc. 100 kg Hybilat-N ® cover a floor space of 1,200 m², a 22 kg package is sufficient for approximately 260 m², when applied in a thickness of 3 mm.

Hybilat-N^® has, due to its optimum bulk density, a strong absorption power for all liquids.
