Extraction

Natural pumice is extracted through simple open pit mining. The natural mineral sits just under mostly agronomic loess layers. The cover is pushed aside, stored and after the extraction of the Natural expanded silicate, re-applied.
Excavation of Natural expanded silicate is therefore considered a very environmentally friendly raw material extraction, with valuable natural habitats and new agriculturally lands remaining.

The mining of Natural expanded silicate requires relatively little energy or technical equipment which gives Natural expanded silicate an excellent ecological balance.
