Varioplan - The efficient masonry for exterior insulation and finish systems

With the Varioplan program Bisotherm provides the economic and insulating supporting shell for multilayered wall constructions. Whether single shell with thermal insulation system or double shells with furring and inter- insulation the Varioplan program provides an efficient solution.

If systems made of expanded polystyrene foam are used in buildings with fire protection requirements from 10 cm insulation thickness on additional measures must be provided for to prevent the spreading of the fire to windows and doors. For this purpose, mineral wool strips are to be arranged around the lintels, or circular fire protection bolts at the height of the supports of the floors.

To avoid these costs, it is advisable to choose a heat-insulating masonry back to reach 10 cm thickness of the EIFS the required low heat transfer coefficients.

The table below shows exemplary wall structures with max. 10 cm insulation thickness with the normal thermal conductivity of 0.035 W / mK and the resulting U-values.

These maximum structures are ideal for townhouse and/or apartment building constructions, even under conditions of fire protection.

All Bisotherm bricks have continuous inner wall webs in the longitudinal direction. Thus, they may be used without special confirmation of the longitudinal compressive strength in all earthquake zones.
